Fua Creative Ltd
Fua started in November 2018 and established as a company in May 2019 by the Director Vita Vaka, a young Pacific entrepreneur who wanted to integrate his passion and skills in Arts and Entertainment, Pacific Culture, Holistic well-being and Community Work.
Fua is a term that came from the Pacific Island also known as the Kingdom of Tonga which means 'Fruitfulness' or to 'Blossom and Flourish'. Fua aims to use creativity and mentoring through a Pacific cultural framework to see individuals in our Marlborough community flourish in their full potential.
At Fua what sets us apart is our vision and creativity, we believe that everyone has creative potential and our services provide the individualised ways to mindfully bring that out.
Fua Mission Statement
Cultivating Potential is about creating performing arts opportunities and innovative mentoring programmes to nurture an individual who is passionate about the arts and well-being, particularly through addressing limiting mind-sets, behaviors and working towards a creative strategy to empower them to actualise their potential.
Fua Dynamic Duo
Director Nicole Pereira, of Singaporean Portuguese heritage is currently working towards a PhD in Dance, which will further enhance the practice, productivity and longevity of Fua's business strategy and delivery. Nicole's experiences in finance sees her focusing on the financial plan and management of Fua, while also looking after reporting and accountability to funders and stakeholders.
Director Tevita Vaka (Vita), of Pacific Maori and European Descent who is currently delivering the services has performing arts qualifications and industry experience and skills to further complete his Bachelors in Psychology and Tertiary Achievement Qualifications gained to serve and contribute to the youth, family and community of Marlborough.
Our proverb: "Mai te kakano ki nga hua" which translates "From the seed to the fruit" describes our passion to see potential actualized and not remain as potential.
We hope to grow Fua Creative Limited to a capacity where I can hire staff and provide a platform for other young aspiring performing arts, arts educators and those interested in community work to have exposure and real life work experience in the industry here in Marlborough and throughout New Zealand.
